About Eva Clement
Eva Clement grew up in North Carolina. She graduated from NC School of Science and Math and then earned her B.A. with honors from Guilford College.
As a Social Insurance Specialist with the Social Security Administration in Asheville, NC. Eva served thousands clients and conducted trainings at hospitals, state agencies, and other public service institutions across Western North Carolina. During her tenure, the Department of Health and Human Services awarded Eva three Recognition of Contribution commendations.
Eva earned her JD cum laude from North Carolina Central University while interning with Everett & Everett Law Firm in Durham. During this time she help found the Butner Legal Reentry Assistance Project, a pro bono initiative that aimed to reduce recidivism rates at Butner Federal Correctional facility. She also participated in Durham’s Elder Law Pro Bono Clinic and did domestic violence litigation through Durham Legal Aid.
After graduation Eva joined the firm Thomas P. Peter II & Associates in Maine as a litigator. Her caseload included criminal defense for adults and juveniles, family law, mental health, business law, civil litigation, probate, and administrative law. She participated in the Maine Volunteers Lawyers Project on the Domestic Violence Pro Bono Panel.
Eva returned home to found the Clement Law Firm in Asheville. She continues her public service work by extensive volunteering in the Asheville area. Eva is a member of NC Advocates for Justice a nonprofit, nonpartisan association dedicated to protecting people’s rights through professional and community legal education, championing individual rights, and protecting the safety of North Carolina’s families — in the workplace, in the home, and in the environment. Eva joined the Board of Terpsicorps Theatre of Dance in Asheville which is dedicated to access to world class dance and dance instruction for all.
Eva was interviewed by the magazine, Capital at Play - The free spirit of enterprise, for the article The Secret of Crowdsourcing.
Eva received the WNC Women in Business award for Attorney of the Year 2014.
